2010 Performer Submissions

To submit performer packages for consideration, please mail to:

The deadline to submit is February 19, 2010, however you may submit for future considerations after that. Submissions are kept active for one year.

All materials received by the Georgian Bay Folk Society and/or the Artistic Director remain the property of the Folk Society.

All submissions are reviewed for their suitability for Summerfolk and our year-round programs. Due to the volume of material received, please be aware we are unable to acknowledge receipt or provide comments. Only those of interest will be contacted.

Helpful Hints

When submitting a CD, suggest the three most appropriate songs on the disc to be reviewed.

One page with bio, press and contact info is usually sufficient. If you are selected, additional promotional materials may be requested.

October is probably the best time to send a kit for the comming year.

Other Ways to Play Summerfolk

Apply to play at the Last Chance Saloon, March 27, 2010. Go to our Forms page for more information. One act from this event is selected to perform at Summerfolk 2010.

One act from the Open Mic Nights will be offered a spot at the Last Chance Saloon.

Sign-up for an Open Stage slot during Summerfolk. One act is selected for the following year's Festival. Pre-registration is available starting May 3rd, 2010 - contact the Georgian Bay Folk Society office. A number of slots are also available on a first-come/first-served basis at the Festival.

Discoveries Showcase - for those from the Georgian Bay region, 21 years of age and under. A total of 12 registrations on a first-come/first-served basis are accepted to perform at the Preliminary Discoveries Showcases to advance to the Final Discoveries Showcase on the afternoon of March 27th. Three performers from this event will be selected to perform In the Discoveries Concert, Friday night, August 20th at Summerfolk.
